Sony today introduced the fun, easy-to-use VAIO E Series to its notebook computer range. Featuring large 16:9 real wide full HD displays of 14 inches, 15.5 inches and 17 inches with comprehensive full HD entertainment features, the E Series also offers a full pitch keyboard with easy-to-use short cut controls, making it an ideal personal computer for everyday use. The choice of both matte colours and vibrant glossy colours with unique patterns allows E Series users to make a personal style statement.

A stylish addition to modern life

The E Series is practical in function and modern in design. The silver VAIO logo floating on the transparent and deep glassy finishes on the top and the palm rests give an over-all impression of depth and richness, giving off the look of a glass full of water that is about to pour off the edge.

A wide range of vibrant colours is available, allowing users to choose a standout look that matches their personal style. The Glossy Vivid colour series (Blue, Pink, and Green) have a transparent finish with dynamic and viable dot gradation. The Glossy Basic colour series (Black and White) have a transparent finish with urban monotone and sophisticated square gradation. Meanwhile, the Matte Basic colour series (Black and White) have relaxing colours that match your interior.

Unique Full HD entertainment solutions

The E Series’ new 16:9 real-wide full HD display is capable of playing back videos at extremely high resolutuions. It is also equipped with Dolby Home Theater, which offers a high quality surround sound effect for enhanced movie viewing.

Users can also enjoy visuals on even larger screens because it is possible to connect the E Series notebook to HD TVs via an HDMI port.

Built on the latest Intel^® platform, the new series delivers a powerful processing capability. The Intel^® Core^™ i3 boasts hyper threading technology. In addition, it comes with the latest integrated ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5650 / 5145 with 1GB / 512MB or Intel^® Graphics Media Accelerator HD graphics processors, enabling a smoother and faster processing speed for video playback or gaming.

It also incorporates VAIO Original software including the Media Gallery and PMB VAIO Edition, allowing users to enjoy movies, music and memories wherever and whenever they like.

Convenient and user-friendly features

The VAIO E Series features intuitive, easy-to-use and convenient buttons. The ‘ASSIST’ button takes users directly to VAIO Care, the VAIO original software which simplifies basic maintenance and troubleshooting tasks to keep your VAIO in good condition, while the ‘VAIO’ button leads users to the Media Gallery. The ‘WEB’ button allows speedy access to web browsing. The new series also incorporates a touchpad with multi-gesture functions for users working without a mouse. These functions support three major finger motions: scrolling through pages, moving backwards and forwards on web pages, and zooming in and out.

The isolation keyboard features a 19mm full key pitch and numeric keypad. The numeric keypad is also full pitch with a four column layout for added convenience for gaming and typing numbers to spread sheets.

At the left-hand side of each VAIO E Series unit are three side-mounted USB ports. These are joined by a fourth eSATA/USB port which allows data to be transferred at five times the speed possible on USB2.0. Through this eSATA/USB port, users may also connect to external eSATA HDDs and use them like internal HDDs.

VAIO E Series 14 inch

Gorgeously styled to stand out from the crowd, the E Series 14 inch notebook comes in Matte Basic colour finishes.
