Despite the slimness of the VAIO Z, it is equipped with powerful CPU and SSD, which makes its performance almost equal to a desktop PC. Tough and challenging tasks will be no more with Intel's latest and top-of-the-line Core™ i5 CPU incorporated in the VAIO Z.

Making sure that no time will be lost, VAIO Z is now outfitted with SSD (solid-state drive) which performs significantly faster than the conventional HDD (hard disk drive), making transferring of data easy and quick.

The usability enriched by the prominent technology

The VAIO Z is equipped with 2 graphics accelerators, the external NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 330M GPU with CUDA™ Technology and the internal Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator HD. When graphic performance is required, the Auto mode in the Dynamic Hybrid Graphics system automatically chooses the external. When this is not needed, it switches to the internal GPU to help save battery life.

The VAIO Z also features backlit keyboard with ambient light sensor. It measures the amount of light in the environment you are working in and adjusts the brightness of backlight of the keyboard to provide a comfortable typing experience anytime, anywhere. Furthermore, the ambient light sensor also alters the brightness of the LCD display to offer comfort in every environment.

Combined the robustness with lightweight

In the years of developing advanced mobile PCs, VAIO pioneered new design and technology while striving for the best. For the latest flagship mobile, one-piece milled aluminium plate and Hybrid Carbon are used to achieve great quality and mobility to provide you comfort while carrying it around. The one-piece of aluminium plate is used on the palmrest, and milled to maximize the strength. On the other hand, the Hybrid Carbon is used on the top panel. It uses a special material in the layers inside to lighten the weight than normal carbon without sacrificing the robustness.
