Full High Definition at Your Command with VAIO F

With the launch of the brand new VAIO F Series, Sony is poised to take powerful entertainment-oriented notebook computers to a new level. Designed to represent the ultimate Full HD studio, the VAIO F Series offers comprehensive entertainment and multimedia solutions ranging from professional-grade Full HD video and RAW image editing to Blu-ray Disc™ playback and 3D gaming.

A powerful and speedy multimedia powerhouse

The VPCF116FG is VAIO's first notebook computer equipped with an Intel® Core™ i7 processor, enabling effective parallel processing and ensuring faster processing speeds even while multitasking. Enhanced with Turbo Boost Technology, this powerful quad-core processor lets users enjoy 3D gaming and other processing-intensive tasks with ease.

The ultimate entertainment experience

The VAIO F features a 16.4" Full HD anti-glare LCD display that minimizes reflection and reproduces rich, high-contrast colors. The new VAIO F also incorporates the latest Dolby® Home Theatre® v3 sound system, contributing clear surround sound to your private cinematic experience. The Blu-ray Disc™ Combo on the VPCF116FG brings the F Series to the top of the industry, delivering the smooth, cinematic playback of Full HD movies.

Ideal for movie playback and multimedia editing, the VPCF116FG features the top-of-the-line NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 330M graphics chip with CUDA™ technology and 1GB DDR3 video memory, maximizing your entertainment experience with Full HD movie playback, detail-rich graphics and high-resolution 3D gaming.

Professional operating environment

Preinstalled with the Genuine Windows® 7 operating system, the VAIO F effortlessly handles everyday computing needs. Its superior processing power and graphics performance also cater to professional video editing requirements, enabling you to edit files ranging from Full HD video captured with a Handycam® to RAW files from your Alpha DSLR camera.

Furthermore, the VAIO F Series can be hooked up to an external SATA hard disk drive via its eSATA/USB port, facilitating rapid file transfers which speeds up to approximately five times faster than USB2.0. The bundled PMB VAIO Edition and new VAIO Creation function enable you to create and edit home movies with quick and simple steps.

Working in a comfortable and creative setting

Encased in its premium form, the VAIO F was designed to facilitate comfortable creating and editing with its full-sized numeric keypad and compact body. A user-programmable S1 button has also included for easy playback, stop, fast-forward and rewind commands with just one-touch of the button.

The textured finishing of the palm rest stays clean and fresh even after hours of use, and the new and powerful fan enhances cooling while remaining quiet. In addition, it is incorporated with VAIO button that, with one push, activates the Media Gallery, which presents exciting new ways to enjoy photos, videos and music. The VAIO F is incorporated with the ASSIST button that offers instant access to VAIO Care, which simplifies basic maintenance and troubleshooting tasks to keep your VAIO in good condition.

The star of energy efficiency

The energy efficient VAIO F Series also features a light sensor that automatically adjusts screen illumination to conserve power in dim conditions. The handy Display Off function further cuts power consumption when the unit is connected to an external display unit.
