When Google went ahead to promote Search, one of the ways they did it was to make 30 to 60 second videos. Here's my fave, featuring everyone's favorite Caped Crusader.
Here's one for the newbies, entitled, uhmm.. 'Newbie':
Here's one for the civic minded entitled 'Potholes'
Here's 'Cheermobile', the one they released last Christmas.
Here's Parisian Love', a nice boy - meets - girl ' vid:
Here's one for the music lover, which is my least fave btw, entitled 'Out Of Office'. Kind of a muddled story.
Let's not forget the kids! 'High School' features a young one growing up, entering a new high school, cheerleading, playing sports, etc. Searching for 'making friends at a new school' makes me wonder about their social skills though.
And finally at a tie for the best is 'Mad To Live', featuring Jack Kerouac's road trip across the US as mapped out on Google Maps. Kerouac is the most influential author I had ever read and his work and words are special to me, and I'm happy to note Google got it right making this one.
So did Google have to do these ads? Did they work?
As if to indicate how fast results are in this modern age, you don't have to go far to see the effect. There are several comments under these videos on YouTube that go 'Wow Google Maps can do that?', and / or 'I didn't know you can do that on Search!'.
Mission accomplished as far as I'm concerned.
