I attended the Microsoft Bloggers VIP Mix last January 28, 2010 for Tech Exchange and my lifestyle blog Animetric's World. It's my first Microsoft event ever so I didn't have the faintest notion of what I was in for.

There were food, drinks, and I guess 99 other bloggers aside from myself since Microsoft supposedly invited 100 bloggers for the occasion. Without much ado they brought out Microsoft Office 2010 to be demonstrated by fellow bloggers Jayvee and Johnny. It's not yet out in the market so this is an advanced preview.

For most part, they walked us through the new and improved Powerpoint. Let's put it this way, it's like they incorporated Adobe Photoshop + a video editor into Powerpoint. You can now edit photos and videos with a wide variety of effects. You can change textures, colors, dimensions, perspectives... even cut out certain portions of your video to add to your presentation. They made it clear though that these new add-ons are not meant to replace your favorite graphics and video editors as you can only utilize them within Powerpoint to jazz up your slideshow.

They also showed us two people can play Battleship using Microsoft Excel with Microsoft Live. If you're familiar with Google Docs, you'd be either happy or sad or pissed off to find out that Microsoft now has its own version of it also within Microsoft Live.

It was a pretty short night as I didn't stay behind for booze. I'm a non-drinker since I have very low tolerance for alcohol. The folks over at Microsoft gave everyone MS Office 2010 Beta Access CDs so I'll be testing it over the coming days and posting about it here. Stay tuned!
